Due to Covid 19, many countries have issued a state of emergency and local governments are asking their citizens to stay at home. Therefore many establishments have closed and people are practicing Social Distancing to prevent getting infected and infecting others.

LiD is also encouraging dancers to practice Social Distancing, but we understand it can be a difficult time for people.

That is why we have created this blog post to help dancers find a way to practice at home while social distancing.

1. How to find online dance lessons at home.

Many studios/teachers are teaching dance lessons via online. Check their social media pages and websites. If you don’t know what to search for, start with checking out LiD’s directory here.

We have mentioned before about social media sites dedicated to teaching lessons online in our blog post What to do if your Dance Studio Closes?

2. Using the hashtag #おうちで踊ろう (dance at home)

If you want to stay connected to the dance world in Japan but want to stay inside, simply put this hashtag in a search engine or the search bar of any social media site and a ton of information pops up.

3. Use video chat to train with your friends

Some people are using video chats to talk and even train with their friends. Here are some websites you can use:

LiD advises dancers not to go to each other's houses or to meet up to train. Please stay in your own individual homes and use the video chats to connect.

4. Tik Toc Dances

If you don’t have much space at home but still want to practice, dances that have become popular on the social media app Tik Toc are a convenient way to train. If you are finding them too easy, add your own spin on them or create your own dance!

Please be safe mentally and physically. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us!
